Frequently Asked Questions

When can I apply?

You can apply at any time but the timescale for consideration of the applications is as follows:

The half yearly dates by which applications must be submitted are

31 March          –      applicants will usually be informed of the outcome of their application by July of that year.

30 September –     applicants will usually be informed of the outcome of their application by January of the next year.

How will I know if I qualify?

Please read the accompanying notes carefully.

The trustees do not consider applications from National Charities unless there is a direct link to a local beneficiary or organisation.  If a National Charity is supporting an application e.g. by providing part of the funding for some equipment or a project, the application itself should be made by the individual or local organisation itself indicating the scope of support from the National Charity.

Where do I need to live?

The Trustees consider applications from within the ‘old’ Lancashire boundaries, as defined in the Local Government Act 1972.  Click to see map.
